Carlo Chandler- Finished Animated GIF
"Robot Limping Downtown"
Here is the finished version of my GIF. I decided to move the figure across the background instead of the other way around because I would have had to make a looping background, which would be difficult with this photo. I think it looks jerky because when I was cutting out frames to simplify it, I cut out some important poses.

GIF -- Collin Ensz
I took these sequenced pictures, then aligned them in Photoshop. For the blackbird, I then moved the frames to track it's flight down, then moved back up to show "another" bird. For the ducks, I combined the first and last frames to try to make it look continuous.
Animted GIF in progress
I chose to combine frames from a video with a still image. I was having trouble aligning the figure so that it walks naturally, so I decided to move the background and keep the figure static. I'm still working on this.

"Spirit hand." Brett Parrott. This particular project took me quite some time to understand how to animate in photoshop but once i managed to overcome the initial hurdles it proved to be quite simple to use. I took several photos of my hand and edited them in photoshop before arranging them as frames.

Practice GIF
This was made from a series of photos taken while in a car going down the highway. I used Auto-align in Photoshop and it produced this effect.

Water & Mow Cycle - Collin Ensz
This piece is designed to make people think about wasteful use of water. It is set at Cheney State Park, which is fitting as a water source for Wichita as well as a public place where people will have opportunity to view the work. It would spin to suggest the mower moves around watering the grass behind it, which continually grows, making the mowing and watering never ending. I had originally been working with a spiral shape, but used a ring instead since it fits the idea of a cycle better.
The city of Wichita or the State Park system may both have an interest in funding this piece.

Proj.5-Corporate Green - Carlo Chandler
We as a society are
so used to having pure water on demand that we don't realize the
actual cost of it. Water is subsidized by the government, but if we
factored in all the pollution and waste of water that is caused by
industry, agriculture, and everyday citizens, then the real cost of
water would be exceedingly high. Therefore, I wanted to make water
misuse into a tangible narrative sculpture that would make people realize just how precarious our future is.
The sculpture would be a functioning water source, so people would receive the message by interacting with it.

I created the
artwork in Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape, but I had problems when switching between the two programs, so I probably will avoid using Inkscape again. I also used Photoshop to create the stone texture.
I decided to include
the real life corporation American Water because it is one of the
largest providers of drinking water in the US and also performs
wastewater treatment. This sculpture would probably be funded by a government grant for the arts. I don't expect that American Water would want to fund this because it doesn't portray them in a flattering way.
Brett Parrott Digital Studio- Corporate Green finished proposal
Brett Parrott "Tears From the Man in the Moon." Adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Paint.net.
This project required us to not only work in groups but to also create a proposal for an environmental art piece that would draw attention to an issue in our present world. My group chose to focus on the topic of Oceanic trash and Satellite debris. This piece connects the two by having the man in the moon standing atop a small pile of trash and having his tears form the water of the fountain. The Sputnik satellite dangles in front of his head, symbolizing the debris that is in orbit around the earth.
I mostly used Illustrator for this project, and found myself able to utilize its 3D features with relative ease. I touched up the final design with photoshop and then added some last details with paint.net. All in all this project made me ask plenty of questions about the content of my piece, its design, and how both of those relate to the environmental issue we chose to focus on. The main body of the piece would be constructed out of painted recycled plastic. The piece could be funded by an environmental art fundraiser.

For this project, we worked as a group to brainstorm ideas
mainly about environmental issues and our group decided on water
misuse/overuse. Then we each made a proposal and finally we picked a location
for the artwork which was Cheney Lake. I personally like to work by myself. As for group work, I
think it is good to get together and talk about ideas or topics. If we want to
narrow down and decide on one thing, then it’s a little hard because maybe
every person has their own thought on what they want to work on.

Brett Parrott Corporate Green journal- working in a group
During this project we were required to collaborate at least on some level with multiple people in order to produce an artistic proposal. First we listed several different issues or topics that we would like to relate our piece to. Then we selected the topic of Oceanic trash and Satellite debris, and set to work on sketching concepts and selecting our location. We chose to have the location be on WSU's campus, but where we wanted them to be on campus was up to the individual members.
Working in a group is not something i am entirely used to, especially in regards to artistic endeavors. There were plenty of positives, namely the speed in which the topic was chosen and the choice of location. However, when I first began i had to learn not to just select whatever topic i thought was best and then start emphasizing on that before we had even chosen the topic as a group. All in all working in a group was interesting, and it definitely sped up the artistic process as a whole.

Working in a group
For this project, we decided as a group what our broad topic would be and then what the best location for it would be. Each of us had ideas for the topic that would have worked. But we quickly decided to use the issue of water misuse/overuse. Then we decided on Cheney Lake for the location as a nearby water source.
Group projects can be good to work in if everybody has ideas and is willing to work together, or they can be aggravating when nobody can agree or some people don't care or contribute. In this case we discussed and decided everything fairly quickly and without difficulty. I suppose it would have been harder if we continued to do the whole project together since we would have had to split up responsibilities and agreed on more specific details.

Documentation of Working in a Group
As a group we
decided on the issue of water usage and misuse. My idea was a
narrative sculpture of a hypothetical future where water is scarce.
We decided on Cheney Lake for the location because of its relevance
as a water source for Wichita and because it is frequented by many
people, which will increase our artwork's effectiveness.
One benefit of
working in a group was that my design was influenced and enhanced by
my teammate's ideas. Another benefit was that our background
knowledge of the issue complemented each other, allowing us to
address the issue more in-depth. There were also some challenges. I
realized that you shouldn't put too much time into a proposal because
the group may not decide to use your idea. However, we didn't have a
problem choosing between different ideas; everyone was willing to
work on the idea of the other.

ThaiBinh's Narrative Proposal
Idea #1 - Memoirs of an Introvert - Being shy and having the courage to speak up is hard. There will be scenes of multiple shorts of situations where speaking up and meeting people as required of a task. Each person reacts differently to the same situation. This will be fun and entertaining and viewers will understand people create logic of their own.
Idea #2 - Conflict of Separation - Already troubled with parents, a person must have the guts to tell their parents that they will move for a better career path. The parents rely heavily on their child to run
a business or take care of younger relatives. Scenes will unfold the tension the family will have according to the child's decision.
Idea #3 - REM's Hidden Meaning - A person has a reoccurring dream but couldn't make anything out of it. This person started to ask family and friends of it was out of the ordinary. Eventually the person runs into a shady cheap palm reader but is the only one that understood whats going on. They embark on a journey to help his dreams and have a better sleep.
Digital Media class will continue working out 3D proposals for Project 5 Corporate Green
You may continue your designs Using AI perspective grid to insert your object into it's environment (on a NEW Layer), then continue to create the surfaces and effects you would like to achieve using the Mesh tool and Effects.

Proposals!
Scary B Movie - The curse of the haunted book
A man finds a curious book at a coffee shop and cannot put it down. After attempting to dispose of it, the book continues to follow the man, until at last, the book murders the man. There will be a subplot with characters attempting to solve the mystery as a whodunnit, with the book ending up killing them also as the lights flicker out. The book resumes resting on the coffee shop bookshelf, waiting to be picked up by the next unsuspecting victim.
An animated short of the Haunted Book - Basically just a storyboard, very little animation, just a series of drawings to tell the story.
A mini-auto-documentary of the Life of Connor - filmed with the cameraphone, but documenting all the most exciting moments of my typical day. I will be playing a fictionalized version of myself, so I guess it's technically a mockumentary.

Jibreel Wilson Narrative proposal ideas
Idea 1: "J.B. Van Saints Last Day" In my youth I watched an indie film inspired by the the last days of Kurt Cobain. It always intrigued me that the last actions he did before killing himself were so mundane. Aside from writing a suicide note his life resumed a mediocre routine. This prompted me to make a very similar narrative of my "last day," walking the viewer through a series of average events that will eventually lead to a death. This narrative will take place in a variety of settings that will show a bizarre death ritual that is personal and significant to the subject alone, highlighting the idea of what is truly sacred. Nothing is gained and nothing is lost but a journey still takes place is a narrative that I feel will stand the test of time.
Idea 2: Making ends: This would be more of a poem then a straight narrative, using only subtitles I tell the story of two lovers that are no longer in love. Something has clearly happened between them, whether it was adultery, distrust, or years of neglect will be for the viewer to decide. I will try to convey a conversation through facial expressions and body language alone. My goal is to illustrate a sexual tension that neither knows quiet what to do with or how to act on.
Idea 3: Werewolf of the flint hills. Mild mannered J.B. Wilson is a less than stellar specimen of a man. From years of rejection from woman and friends alike he has slowly taken up the mantel of a loner. One night as Mr. Wilson is strolling around his dark neighbor hood he is attacked by a rabid animal of some sort. The next day he is attracting the attention of some of his female coworkers. He finds himself talking and acting smoother then he has in his entire life. He has become a sexy werewolf and when the clocks strikes twelve he will become a full blown animal in a way you might not expect.

Carlo Chandler -Proj.5 Prelim sketch 1
Theme: Water usage and misuse
This is a water pump from a future where our water is almost used up and what is left is mostly polluted. The small text says, "We know that these days it's hard to find clean water-or any water for that matter. So enjoy this recycled refreshment, courtesy of American Water-#1 Provider of recycled water in 2057"
The location is Cheney Lake

Brett Parrott Corporate green concept sketch
For our current project we were supposed to sketch the concept of our piece and provide a picture of our proposed location. The theme of this piece is oceanic trash and satellite debris around the earth. The piece is intended to be a fountain.
This is my proposed location on WSU's campus, it is located west of the RSC, south of the new dorms, and north of McKnight.

In Response to JB
The Rising Tide - Europe Refugee CrisisYou've probably seen lots of footage on the news of refugees arriving in Greece by boat, but you've probably not seen anything like this. You've heard lots of opinions about who they are or what they want, but you can see it firsthand in this video. These are the ones lying destitute on the road, and we must be the Good Samaritan. As team leader Dan Stephens shares, "We are the first faces they see when they land. Most of them have probably never met a Christian." It's our calling to show them the love of our Savior, and that is what many of you have helped us to do by your generous gifts. Learn, pray, and get involved here ▶http://bit.ly/1WNfyDO

Carlo Chandler - Environmental Art
The topic I am focusing on is plastic ocean gyres. These gyres pose a serious threat to the ecosystem because they're dangerous to wildlife and interfere with production of oxygen by phytoplankton, both of which we depend on. Here are some examples of artists who have addressed the problem:
Claudio Garzón
Garzón creates sculptures made from plastic debris found on the beach. He also teaches children how to make these and at the same time teaches them about ocean conservation. Therefore, his way of addressing the problem is by using art to bring awareness and to educate.
Works from the exhibition "Gyre: The Plastic Ocean"
In this example, 26 artists participated in an exhibition that showcased artworks made from ocean plastic. The plastic was collected from scientific expeditions studying marine debris around the world. This project shows artists and scientists working together to document and bring awareness to an environmental problem.
Brett Parrott Topics for corporate green
For the next project in Digital studio, we must find and choose from several environmental causes to support and create and artistic proposal for them.
These are the two topics that i would like to focus on the most.
This video shows drone footage of an actual pork farm as well as its effects upon the surrounding community.
II. Lack of pollution laws and regulations in china
While i do not entirely enjoy the narrator's sarcastic attitude, all of the things presented are real and happening everyday in China due to their general lack of pollution regulations.

Carlo Chandler - Project 4: Self Portrait
"Untitled"
For my self portrait I decided to caricature myself. The geometric simplification of the face is influenced by the portrait artists that I posted earlier. I really enjoy cartooning and caricatures, so I had a lot of fun with this project.

Brett Parrott: Digital portrait
Brett Parrott "Witness the Divine." Adobe illustrator. This project required us to create some kind of self portrait utilizing illustrator. This piece represents all of the elements of both the natural and spiritual world that I find to be the most intriguing and powerful as well as the divine power that exists within us all. The piece depicts a powerful deity displaying its true form in all of its glory as the sea rages in response.
