Brett parrott video example
I picked this mostly because of its abstract and surrealistic style as well as its symbolic and creepy use of practical effects and (as with all tool music videos) the relationship between the music and the visual stimulation.

Short film: "The Black Hole"
Director: Diamond Dogs
Production house: HSI London
I picked this film because the concept is in line with what I was thinking about: making something possible that is normally impossible. Although it uses special effects that I may not be able to use, I just want to use this as inspiration.

Short film example: IMAGINE - Short Film (2015)
Compared to other short films I saw on YouTube, this one seemed to be one of the best in its planning, shooting, and clear purpose.

Collin Ensz, Animation with Sound
On this animation, I wanted it to look sort of cinematic with the scene cuts and the way the trees pan based on distance from the 'camera.' This version has sound. I added a few simple sounds and a short piece of music that I had recorded a while ago and that happened to fit pretty well.
Digital studio video project ideas
- A black cloaked figure traveling through an ancient forest while on a "yearwalk" (which is a Swedish vision quest.) The figure will see various references to norse and pagan folklore among other strange omens of the future.
- A person in deep meditation who sees visions and symbols of gods and nature with their mind's eye.
- A musician plays his guitar around a warm fire in the middle of winter, and laments the loss of the old ways and the old gods of the earth.
Collin Ensz, story ideas
Ideas for Video Project
- Listen to a song or soundtrack and imagine a story that could go along with it.
- Make something real that doesn't exist, maybe a made up virtual reality game
- A person is trapped in a world where whenever they go through a door everything changes perspective and they can never escape

Proj. 7 - Flash Animation
For this project I decided to draw within flash to create the character. I did a combination of frame-by-frame animation and tweening. For the background, I used an image previously created in Illustrator.
Stylistically I wasn't influenced by any one animation or artist; I was just thinking about the style of Flash web animations in general. I designed the character to be very flat and I used the brush tool to help it look like a typical Flash animation.

Ideas for green screen project
Idea number one. Late Night with Jimmy Wilson. The show starts in the typical fashion of a late night talk show host. The comedian portrayed by myself comes out into the middle of the stage and tells few jokes. At first the audience chuckles and then after a few jokes become more and more hysterical and laughter. By the end of the Act the audience is laughing so hard at the jokes with a begin defecating in a frenzy. The host of the show slowly starts to lose his mind after each bit. Suddenly at the end of the performance we realize that he is alone in the studio, and there was never anybody there to begin with.
Idea number 2. Pirates of the Hurricane Harbor. In this ideas you are transported to the magical capitalist adventure Hurricane Harbor. Here the viewer sees a variety of kooky characters, pirates that plunder the concession stands and water slides of this once great park. Throughout this journey the viewer will be subjected to a variety of song and dance numbers by the Pirates leader JB McHookNfly.
Idea number 3. The wayward peaks. In a small isolated mountain town in Colorado a paranormal investigator uncovers a strange mystery. Will investigating into the thick underbrush PI Wilson discovers remnants of a creature that is out of this world. It's now up to him to solve the strange mystery of the crashed UFO.
green-screen-a-palooza 2015
1. a model for a quick & dirty 3D videogame/interactive experience.
2. a visual component for a looped projected collage.
3. a visual component for a music video.
Depending on how much time allows me, there's also the possibility for these projects to intersect, for instance, a collage that features a game or interactive element, or a music video that features a made-up videogame consisting of the green-screened footage.

Brett Parrott: Animation examples
This is a link to short film entitled "Ursa Minor Blue." by Shigeru Tamura. I love this animation mostly because of the children's-book aesthetic, the surrealism, the fantasy elements, and the beautiful color schemes. The film is shorter than an average TV show episode so if one has the time I would highly recommend watching both this, and any of Tamura's other work.

Artists who use animation in their work
Artist: Segawa Thirty-seven
Animated GIF
http://culturepop.com/art/segawa-thirty-seven-japanese-woodblock-print-gifs/
Segawa Thirty-seven gives a modern take on traditional Japanese woodblock prints by introducing animation into them.
Artist: Darren Pearson
Stop motion light painting
More videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/thedariustwin/videos
This video shows the possibilities of light as an art medium. Pearson uses an LED light pen to draw in the air while taking a long exposure photo. After that, the process is just like stop-motion animation.
Animators
http://blameyourbrother.com/
Blame Your Brother is a group of 5 or 6 guys in Toronto that make animations for marketing ads and some television work, I think. I like the quality and feel of their vector animations. Some look very simple and flat. Others are quite complicated.
https://vimeo.com/shabello
Shabello is a freelance designer from the UK. This whale animation https://dribbble.com/shots/2334240-Whalespin is a cool example of using 2D to look 3D. I also liked this video: https://vimeo.com/101325080 because of the animation of typography.
